The Melody of Smokey Five-Thousand
This is a superfluous blog dedicated to the melodies that strikes my fancy. Very simply, what you are witnessing here is an archive for my listening pleasure. Me. The main blog, All Our God, has become more of a visual interpretation of my madness and i wanted to represent the audio that drives my world in it's entirety. There is a distinct mix of bass, rhythm and melody that congeals into a sublime sound, defining who i am. In essence, this is the soundtrack to my life. Feel free to take a listen but always remember, these are my songs.
In other words: F*ck you, I'm dope.
Lost In The World by Ye feat. Bon Iver
i’ve posted this record before but never the video. Lost In The World is one of my all time favorite Ye songs. Sh*t is damn near the perfect song. It’s not as good as Flashing Lights or Through The Wire, but it’s damn close. This is the Ye that needs to make more music, not that bullsh*t ye who marauds around with DJ Khalid. You’re not the best, bro. Stop it.
Titanium by David Guetta feat. Sia
Yet another hitter by Mr. Guetta. his album is full of outstanding sounds. a lot of that has to do with his production but just as much has to do with his guest artists. They fit perfectly with the record her produces. Even that one track with Nicki Minaj singing on 80 percent of it was pretty chill. apparently you know what you’re doing after 20 years in the game.
The Build Up by Kimbra
Completely smitten by this beautiful woman. the more i listen, the more impressed i am. She has a really melodic sound, a throwback to days where things like tone and melody mattered. This record in particular is one of those you can just out on and float away.
Hit That by The Offspring
The first time i saw this video, i was baked out of my gourd. sh*t was freaking me out something crazy. Fond memories, yo.
Wanna Be A Baller by Lil’ Troy
Because the Impala gots ta have 20 inch blades, yo!
Hold On by En Vogue
The 90s were legit for music, yo. Solid decade of great sounds, En Vogue being one of the best. but, at the same time, i mean, the Backstreet boys and NKOTB so not everything was a home run.
Nobody by Keith Sweat feat. Athena Cage
Keith Sweat is awesome. and he reminds me of a dude i met in high school. like a lot. F*cking Kells, man. i can totally see him crooning this to a chick at he lunch benches.
Creep by TLC
I read somewhere that TLC was planning to tour with a hologram Left Eye. man, i don’t know how much it costs to create something like that and make it portable but you best believe those tickets are going to be pretty chunky.
Let’s Chill by Guy
A little of that old school flavor. I miss New Jack Swing. that sh*t was outstanding when done properly. Now, i got, what? Chris Brown? f*ck that’s depressing, yo.
Escapade by Miss Jackson
I like the music Janet makes, for the most part, but her voice is not all that great. also, she looks just like Michael, only with really round boobs. sh*t is unsettling, bro.
